My Future

A work in progress!

The time has come for me to make a few predictions as to where I think my life will lead.

I am often reminded of the scenario of a young boy in hospital dying of an incurable disease.
Young boy: Doctor, doctor, will I die?
Doctor: Yes my child, and so will I.

Even though I think we are all in charge of and responsible for our lives, we are simply not powerful enough to determine our final destination. Having written that I think there are four likely outcomes to my life. Each one depends on the type of person that make (the legislative), control (the administrative) and adjudicate (the judiciary) the laws of the land (both secular and religious), namely the Government and Religious Orders.

Type of people.

1) The child
2) The adolescent
3) The humane adolescent
4) The humane adult
5) The adult

Child
If the child is in control of both secular and religious bodies then I can only hope that my meager assets will see me through to the end of my days. I fear that the rest of society will fare no better.

Adolescent
Same outcome as in the case of the child, except perhaps a little bit worse.

Humane adolescent
If the humane adolescent is in control of both secular and religious bodies then I think that the status quo will exist. I will continue to receive the aged pension and the low interest rates will provide me with a little bit of a surplus (about $12,00 a day). The more things change the more they stay the same.

Humane adult
If the humane adult is in control of both secular and religious bodies then I think that this earth will stand a good chance to survive and I will see my days out without too much fuss. Perhaps I will end my days teaching a number of humane adolescents how to become humane adults.

Adult
If the adult is in control of both secular and religious bodies then this earth will prosper  and I will see my days out without too much fuss. This is the ideal scenario and one I can only hope will come true.
